About Oasis Counseling Solutions — Licensed Therapists in Strongsville, Lakewood, and Chagrin Falls, Ohio
Oasis Counseling Solutions is a licensed mental health practice founded in 2021 by Mondie Gonzales, LISW-S, in Strongsville, Ohio. The practice operates three offices — Strongsville, Lakewood, and Chagrin Falls — and provides telehealth therapy to clients throughout the State of Ohio. Six licensed therapists offer 11 specialty services, from individual therapy and EMDR to somatic movement groups and substance abuse support. The practice accepts Medicaid, Medicare, and over 20 insurance plans, and offers a free 15-minute consultation to every prospective client.
Oasis Counseling Solutions is built on a single premise: the right match between therapist and client is the foundation of everything that follows. We do not assign clients to whoever has the next opening. We take the time to understand what you need before we make a recommendation.
Mondie Gonzales, LISW-S
Mondie Gonzales founded Oasis Counseling Solutions in 2021 after more than 30 years of clinical practice in community mental health, private practice, hospital-based, and school-based settings. She holds a Master of Social Work from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of San Francisco. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervisory designation in the State of Ohio and is certified by EMDRIA to deliver EMDR therapy.
Mondie's clinical specialties include trauma and EMDR, family systems, anxiety and depression, grief, first responder mental health, substance abuse, and lifespan work from early childhood through end of life. She founded the practice on a conviction that real therapeutic change begins with the relationship between therapist and client — and that matching people to the right clinician from the start changes the entire course of treatment.
As a supervisory-designated social worker, Mondie also provides clinical supervision to Caleigh Blum (SWT) at the practice. She sees clients in person at the Strongsville office and via telehealth across Ohio.
What We Believe
Therapy works when the relationship works. The research is consistent: the therapeutic alliance — the quality of the connection between therapist and client — predicts outcomes more reliably than any specific modality or technique. At Oasis Counseling Solutions, we take that seriously. We do not assign you to the next opening. We match you to the clinician whose training, style, and temperament fit your specific situation.
We treat the whole person across the whole lifespan. From a two-year-old working through early attachment challenges to a grandparent navigating grief, the same practice can hold all of it. Our therapists bring different specialties and approaches specifically because our clients' needs are not uniform. What matters is not a single model, but the right fit.
Access matters as much as quality. We accept Medicaid, Medicare, and over 20 insurance plans because excellent mental health care should not be reserved for people who can pay out of pocket. Sliding scale fees and telehealth statewide expand that access further. Our job is to remove every barrier we can between a person who needs support and the therapist who can provide it.
six licensed therapists. The Right Match for You.
Every therapist at Oasis Counseling Solutions brings distinct training, modalities, and areas of specialty. The right match is not about availability — it is about fit.

Meet Winnie
Winnie is Katharine Bussert's Italian Greyhound and joins Katharine's in-person sessions at the Strongsville office. She is one of the Italian Greyhounds who are part of the Oasis Counseling Solutions practice environment.
Research in animal-assisted therapy consistently demonstrates that the presence of a calm, well-trained animal reduces physiological anxiety responses, lowers cortisol, and strengthens the therapeutic alliance — particularly for children and adolescent clients who may be guarded in the early stages of therapy. Winnie's gentle, quiet presence helps many clients open up more readily than talk alone allows.
All animal-assisted sessions are optional. Clients with pet allergies, a fear of dogs, or a personal preference for a dog-free session are accommodated without question. Simply let us know when you book and we will ensure Winnie is not part of your sessions. This accommodation applies equally to children and adult clients.
Therapy dog sessions are available exclusively at the Strongsville office with Katharine Bussert. They are not available at the Lakewood location or via telehealth.
